Public Health says it has not requested the closure of restaurants
In parliamentary committee yesterday, Doctor Horacio Arruda indicated that Public Health – and beware – did not prohibit the closure of restaurants. It would supposedly be a political choice. Can someone tell me what’s going on, please? It appears that the decisions taken by the Legault government are different from those recommended by Public Health. Once again, the idea here is not to blame the protagonists for their decisions. It is rather to underline that the counting of the tragedies does not reserve exclusively for the increases of the cases of hospitalizations and deaths of COVID-19, but that the consequences of the imposed prohibitions will have no other avenues than to be included in short, medium and long term dramas. Not letting people play on the outdoor rinks this winter will be part of this bundle of tragedies for which the government will be indebted to the people. This insensitivity to the medium and long term consequences is appalling. There is no denial or conspiracy here. These are basically logical considerations to minimize the chances of spreading disease while giving humans that we are a lifeline. Media samples on the subject here:
